So what exactly do we do?

A)    We record people singing cover versions
B)    We write, produce and record original songs for artists in pop, R&B, songwriters and hip-hop.
C)    We record voice over artists for commercial presentations.
D)    We produce orchestral audio for major commercial companies.
E)    We throw singing parties for stag and hen parties.
F)    We create online portfolios which include video interviews, photographs and singles.


Where are we based?
We are based in Dublin city centre just off Wexford Street beside the famous music venue Whelan’s.

What happens when I have made my backing tracks CD?
We will have a chat about you and your career and the possibility of recording your very own single and who knows what else we may be able to do for your career.

I am nervous will there be people watching me record?
No, from time to time we may have an intern in the studio but don’t worry their job is to look after you and make you feel comfortable.

I write my own songs what can you do for me?
Eanan and I can compose and produce music for you in a professional well taught out manner. We can add strings, beats, samples, bass lines, record vocals, mix,  
and create your very own unique PopStar single. We are not interested in recording semi professional demos.

Where can I hear an example of your work?
We will have a PopStar single from a girl called Kim Acres who was the runner up in Teen Idol and a PopStar portfolio from Kelly O’Neill online at the end of January.

What is the point of recording backing tracks when all I want is to make my own single?
Before you spend money recording your own single it is best that you get some feedback on your vocal ability, style and tone. We can also arrange for a singing coach to drop in and lend some voice coaching tips. Backing tracks really are the first step in the process; they let you experience the responsibility of singing over an already successful and well produced song. We strongly advise starting your recording career slowly and carefully, experience in this business is everything.

When and how do I arrange to get a gift voucher?
Once you call us tell us how many songs you would like to record and we will post you out a gift voucher, otherwise we may be able to meet you in the city. All you have to do then is post us a check made payable to PopStar Studios.

I would like to meet you in person so I can get a better understanding of what you can do?
No problem, we have consultations with our clients all the time, we can meet up and talk about your recording anytime.

Do you just record pop?
Pop music simply means what is popular that’s all so every genre is welcome.

Why is it so expensive to record a single?
A single means that Eanan and I may spend many hours editing, creating and arranging your song. Recording an original song takes a huge amount of work and organisation.

Why is it so expensive to produce a portfolio?
A portfolio means you may have a team of six or more people working together to create your website, image, sound and theme. In other words the portfolio is a huge job to put together.

What's the difference between a producer and a sound engineer?

The producer brings the creativity to a music project and oversees the entire project. The sound engineer is the person who mixes and edits the audio/song using both analog hardware and audio software.  Most producers these days are very talented sound engineers who have the technical skills and creativity to make a brilliant song.
